The Next Stop 218 - August 22, 2025

Plunging into the blue depths of the South Pacific, this show features the exotic soundtrack from Francesco De Masi to the film Tiko and the Shark (1962). Stacked with the sounds of French Polynesian tropical island paradise, we'll start off hot, hot, hot, before vibing out in the second hour with some coral-reef tape loop ambience. We'll also make a pitstop in Honolulu and learn about the origin story of the steel guitar and how the innovations of a Hawaiian teenager transformed country, rock, and blues in the American South.
